Be with the snow

My New Year’s Resolution was to practice being present.  I was going to say "….was simple," but we all know that it’s not that easy to stay with what’s going on right this minute.  Or at least it’s hard for my magpie brain.

Resisting the weather, for example.  I’ve done my share of moaning and groaning about it.  Truth is, however, this is a natural part of the Colorado cycle.  The past few years were drought years, but the 70s and even into the 80s were heavy snow cycles, and this winter is reminding us that Colorado is in the Rockies.  Snow is a part of that.

This morning, I shoved snow, then as a reward, shot some photos of the snow.  Being with it. Now you can be, too.

Beautiful, isn’t it?  The snow was steaming off the fence in the most glorious way, and there is nothing quite as pretty as a ponderosa pine frosted with snow.

Looks beautiful! Bushfires and humidity here. Sigh.

There’s supposed to be snow here tonight. If I wake up and the rooftops and the little park and the Moulin de la Galette are dusted with frosty white flakes, I’ll be a happy camper indeed!

I mean “shoveling” snow, of course. :) Bright day again here today. Melting, melting.

Lots of fires in California, too, Keziah. Bad year for that.

Gabrielle, if it snows, post pics. Paris in the snow! Yay.

It just started snowing at 8.20am–if it’s still around when it’s lighter, I’ll let you know. It looks magical in the dawn light.
