To the contrary, Yvonne, you sound passionate and full of ideals. Great things, IMO.

No apologies necessary, Barb.

I've been glued to the television, the internet, the newspaper, the magazines. Self-educating, I've been. I've never been this political in my life. It's taken hold and won't let go. So many things I'd like to scribble out here, such as the running diatribe my conservative Christian Republican aunt and I have been exchanging, my father telling me to get out and go to church (I'd learn the proper way to vote there), and my continuous and exhausting internet searches on the candidates. What's a girl to do?

I had to vote my conscience. I had to say, I believe in America and I want America to stand strong and I believe this is the candidate to get America There. Not so stupid that I don't realize that now, post-election, the rubber hits the road. That's where the proving ground will be. It's that way for all of us, regardless of our life's ambition. But, in this hour for America, we must, we have to, pray for this man and our nation. We must galvanize to see the end result. I totally believe that.

I hope I don't sound stupid and naive. If so, please bear with me, but, I think America is at a crucial moment in time, let's not waste it.

Congratulations! What an amazing result. Watching Obama's acceptance speech with my eldest girl last night was just amazing. Even she is excited about the man and his promises at the age of (nearly) 19. And one thing, she said, that pinned the difference between him and everyone else was that it's his love, for his family, for America, for Americans, that shines through. I don't think I've ever heard a more gracious and hopefilled acceptance.

Thanks for being there, Barbara! Yes, sigh, can't vote--but I still went and volunteered for Democrats Abroad and I've been talking talking talking to undecided American friends. And I think whichever way people vote, it's just really good to see people engaged, learning about the candidates. We're going to be up all night here, waiting, so if you hear a very faint cheer.... :-)

Good for you, too, Melissa. And I am so amazed and excited about the changes in Colorado! :)

Seriously, I've been on an emotional roller coaster for a week. It will be good to have things decided.

Gina, an election judge is the person who hands you your ballot or greets your or...any number of positions. I'm an alternate, so I might not actually get to serve (which would disappoint me terribly, but it's all good).

Yay, Donna! Did you go see him in Pueblo?

Yvonne, you'll have to tell us about your elections.

That's fantastic Barbara! It's so exciting to see all of the activism that this election has inspired. I'm an attorney poll watcher here in Denver tomorrow, so I'm gearing up for the long day myself. I'm so excited that I work up early this morning convinced that today was the big day, but all worried that I had overslept. : ) Here's hoping for good things from the state of Colorado tomorrow.

Barbara, I think half the world wishes they could vote in the US elections this week. We have our own on Saturday, though, hopefully that'll placate us here in New Zealand :-)
