I enjoy baking in the dead of the night, when everyone in the house is asleep and cant come asking me what exactly I'm doing. Banana bread/cake is what I do best, and just the process of measuring, preparing, anticipating, beating, whirring, stirring - soothes me like nothing else. It hasn't been done in a while, but after reading this I have a feeling that my family will enjoy a nice, moist and cinammony banana bread tomorrow. That was gorgeous! Okay, so she did not give me one and I am sooo glad. I totally love the flouring and kneading process. Love it. This is what nurturing is all about, yes? The raw product, the work of one's hands?
