I had to let go a beloved dog a few years ago, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I had to call my father and get him to tell me what I already knew--that it was okay to let Jack go--before I could be brave enough. What a blessing to have had Sasha for that many years, and further blessings that you have piratey stories to remember her by. A good dog is one of life's best gifts. Condolences on your loss.
