Playlist for THE SECRET OF EVERYTHING

I’ve had a good number of requests to post the playlist for THE SECRET OF EVERYTHING, and here it is.  I had no idea there was so much music in this book, honestly, but music is always playing in my head (and Tessa’s!), so I suppose it is no big surprise.

I had a soundtrack that [...]

Once upon a time…

We’re doing some spring cleaning around here and while transfering files from a box (really) to an actual file cabinet, I found this query.

It ended up leading to my first sale.

The phone number was my mother’s, by the way.  I was too poor to have a phone of my own.

Pancake kisses, bacon hugs

THE SECRET OF EVERYTHING is out today! To celebrate, a love song to breakfast.

PANCAKE KISSES, BACON HUGS

Why breakfast is the secret of everything

I suppose I should confess upfront that I am a morning person. I wake up cheery, chatty and at the very first fingers of sunlight creeping over the horizon. I [...]

Here’s my favorite review of the [...]

Right brain book building

My youngest son has a cat named Knucks, a long legged and elegant creature who must be coaxed and seduced into letting me play with him or pet him.  He will play, he wants to play, and he especially wants me to rub his long black nose so he can purr almost silently, nose buried [...]

Happy to report The Lost Recipe For Happiness made the list.

In:
Beach reads for foodies;
A menu of summer treats to sate your literary hunger, Dianna Marder writes:

“The perfect foodie beach bag contains prime kitchen lit: books on food history, essays on sustainability, food-centric fiction (call it foodtion), and sentimental food memoirs, or foodoirs.

Up to my neck: the revision process

I’ve spent the past few weeks going through the new book (formerly 100 Breakfasts now officially titled THE SECRET OF EVERYTHING).  Ed and agents came back with suggestions and I had some thing I knew I wanted to smooth and fix, too.

I wish I could say I had a process I use, over and over [...]

The Full Catastrophe

I really really loved this review.  From an Adelaide publication.  (Newsletter, maybe?)

My favorite part is that she quoted Zorba.  One of my favorite movies of all time.  (When I was pregnant, my fabulous sister took me to the play, and Anthony Quinn was playing his signature role. )  Anyway…..
