| The
picture speaks for itself. Let me just add that it was early morning,
there was no one but me and an old man who was running. It was so
quiet I could hear the rabbits scrambling beneath bushes. Not a
breath of wind. Not a voice or an engine or a child or even a bird.
Just me and the small gray rabbits, and a pair of deer who looked
up, saw me, and went back to eating. The rocks red, scattered with
snow, the air sharp as diamonds.
